egypt to officially request germany to return nefertiti bust

from al-masry al-youm: Minister of Antiquites Zahi Hawass said he would send the German government an official request next week to return the Nefertiti bust that is displayed in the Egyptian Museum of Berlin. “We have documented proof that the bust was illegally smuggled out of Egypt,” he said, adding that he is confident Egypt would bring it back even if it takes a long time. “We will also request the Metropolitan Museum in New York to return 19 items that belong to the treasure of King Tutankhamun,” Hawass said.
